Introduction - Anna
Hi everyone! My name is Anna Martin and I am a current senior at Hood College. I have attended three separate university establishments (not including Hood) in my convoluted pursuit of a higher education and I am glad to add Albertus Magnus College to the list with this elective, online course. I am a double major in Art History and Studio Art with a focus on Painting. I just recently switched from an Anthropology major to Studio Art, last fall, as Hood College does not offer the Anthropology major. As a result, my interests are heavily influenced by a cross-cultural comparison of art expression that occurs alongside societal development. I am interested in all forms of human expression, ancient to modern, however, I lean towards surrealism in my own work. I love to read and work in a company that distributes books. I am partial to dystopian, sci-fi, and fantasy novels (George Orwell, Ursula Le Guin, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Patrick Rothfuss are some of my favorite authors), as well as plays (Isben and Arthur Miller are great). In my free-time, I tend to my copious amount of plants, teach my dog new tricks, and am learning to play the bass.
I have only been in a film camera class in preparatory school and I am excited to learn about DSLR's alongside you all in this summer course. Best of luck to everyone!
Wonderful post, Anna! I love how you named some of your favorite authors... and that you love to read! Welcome.
