Week 2

I attempted to capture some contrast of light and shadow in this picture.

Here is how I would edit it, as I mentioned in the comments... Darkening the edges gives more power to the focal point of the picture.

Thank you for the advice, professor.  I did something similar.  I selected the rectangle in the middle of the picture, inverted the selection, adjusted levels, and darkened.

Here is another picture from downtown Milford, pre editing.  I enjoyed the pattern of the columns.

When editing, I free transformed the picture to be as straight as possible.  I then lassoed the center of column, inverted, and darkened the rest of the picture.  I was thinking that I could have also lassoed the other columns and lighten each of them.

  1. The trees are okay but I am asking you to not shoot nature for this week. I do like the framing of the top shot. I'd darken the outer parts a bit more... Since it is easier to show I will post my edit under it.

    1. I edited the 1st photo in a similar manner. I tried manipulating the entire image before I realized the focal point was probably fine. I then selected the rest of the picture and edited that.

I have deleted the picture of the trees and will upload a different picture. Thank you for your guidance.
