I captured two of these shots by the lake and the other by the ocean. I wanted to focus on the lush greenery and the flection of it all on the lake. The ocean picture was captured as the sun was setting.
One of the goals of the class was to learn editing in a way that we call "straight photography"... There's a fine line between editing for expression and overdoing things by pushing saturation a little too hard and contrast a little too hard. The video of Jacques Pepin that I posted as he teaches how to fry an egg is a great example of what I mean.. Photoshop gives us very powerful tools to manipulate an image but showing a little bit of restraint is useful. All of that said, I like the picture of the ocean the best.
